PRODUCTION SHIFT SUPERVISOR
Liquid Container L.P. is a growth oriented national multi-plant manufacturer of custom and stock plastic containers. We have an opportunity for an experienced Production Shift Supervisor in our highly automated manufacturing facility located in Hammond, LA.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising hourly associates engages in all phases of the production operation as well as ensures the manufacturing equipment runs at maximum efficiency. Some of the duties include: safety, quality, service, housekeeping, training, productivity, labor utilization, warehousing and control of raw materials.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
• Participate in job safety training and enforce all policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
• Comply with and enforce all GMP policies.
• Coordinate activities concerned with scheduling and resolving process problems.
• Assign shift personnel to production equipment, resolve production and quality issues that occur on the shift and provide functional guidance to shift operations and quality personnel.
• Assist Production Manager in reviewing shift operations and make recommendations relative to changes in the organization, personnel, equipment and procedures.
Job Requirements:
Our facility is highly automated and the ideal candidate should possess:
• A minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelors degree in Business Management, Operations or related field.
• Strong technical aptitude to work in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
• Experience in implementing Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
• Strong leadership abilities to motivate and develop employees.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work the 12 hour shift operation schedule from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.
