Job Description:
Maintenance Technician

Liquid Container L.P. is a leading manufacturer of custom and stock plastic containers and we have opportunities for experienced Maintenance Technician in our highly automated Lexington, KY facility.   This position is a night 12 hour shift working 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, working 36 hours week one and 48 hours week two.

Duties of the Maintenance Technician include: serving as the technical expert for blow molding machines; performing preventive maintenance; troubleshooting on blow molding machines, conveyor systems, palletizing and strapping equipment compressors, chillers and fire pumping station; and installing electrical and wiring systems. Extensive industrial automation (PLC programming) experience is preferred.

Specific Duties include:

• Participate in job safety training and follow all policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

• Comply with all GMP policies.

• Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as conveyors systems, hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment, compressors, chillers, dryers, etc.

• Perform repairs on electrical or electronic instruments as directed by the Maintenance Lead.

• Perform preventative maintenance on all production equipment.

• Install electrical wiring systems to handle required loads for various pieces of equipment, installing proper safety devices and providing necessary outlets and switches. Perform electrical troubleshooting.

• Install and wire industrial automation line controls and integrate with existing network.

• Troubleshoot, program and repair robotic equipment.

• Conduct periodic tests or checks of all electrical or electronic instruments.

• Identify and report potential equipment and building problems.

Job Requirements:
Our facilities are highly automated and the ideal candidate should possess:

• Strong, hands-on PLC and controls experience

• Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and complex mechanical equipment.

• A minimum of 5+ years experience in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

• Skill in oral/interpersonal communications, pleasant and polite to all co-workers and supervision.

• Ability and desire to willingly learn and help whomever, whenever and wherever assistance is needed.

• Knowledge of arc and wire feed welding.

• Ability to use shop equipment (lathe, drill press, mill, cut-off saw, arbor press and hydraulic press).

• Must be flexible to work the ""off-shift"", overtime, and on-call hours.
