Job Description:
LIFT TRUCK OPERATOR
7 PM – 7 AM SHIFT
 
Liquid Container L.P. is a leading manufacturer of custom and stock plastic containers and we have an opportunity for a Lift Truck Operator on the continuous night operation schedule in our Hammond, LA facility.
The Lift Truck Operator is responsible for loading/unloading inbound/outbound trailers as assigned observing established standard operating procedures, including utilization of dock/lock safety devices to secure trailer before loading/unloading trailers, ensures quantity received/shipped accuracy and reports discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
• Perform routine inspection of lift truck and battery for any malfunction or damage and report any damage to supervisor. Changes battery when necessary and records time and date of change in battery log as required.
 
• Bring finished goods to shipping docks and loads or assists in loading goods into trailers following required trailer loading method. Replaces damaged or crushed cases and bottles to ensure load quality and integrity.

• Periodically assist in taking physical inventory of corrugated, finished goods and raw materials.

• Support production department by line driving the various production lines' this would include supplying components, putting finished goods away in the warehouse, creating log data that identified the pallet put-away locations, working with other departments to solves non-conformance issues on the lines.
 
 • Provide ideas and suggestions to improve warehouse operations and the safety of the working environment.

Job Requirements:
We are a highly automated manufacturing facility and the ideal candidate should possess:

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months related experience and/or training.

• Skill in oral/interpersonal communications, pleasant and polite to all co-workers and supervision.

• Ability and desire to willingly learn and help whomever, whenever and wherever assistance is needed.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

• Effective written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to complete and maintain a certified lift truck operator license.
