Quality Assurance Technician

Liquid Container L.P. is a growth oriented national multi-plant manufacturer of customer and stock plastic containers and we have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Technician in our West Chicago, IL facility. The QA Technician is responsible in assuring the overall quality of bottles and final packaging prior to shipment to customers.

Specific job responsibilities include:

• Follow all established safety, healthy, quality and GMP policies, procedures and recognized practices.

• Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned.

• Visual checks of bottles and box glue patterns on a regular basis for final packaging units.

• Perform basic processing of injection and/or blow molding machines to improve machine efficiency and reduce scrap.

• Perform required quality checks on containers and correct and adjust process as needed.

• Verify correct operation of in-line inspection devices i.e. leak testers, vision systems, metal detectors and other appropriate automated inspection equipment.

• Enter required data to plant's Statistical Process Charts (SPC) database.

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate should possess:

• High School diploma or equivalent, technical certification preferred.

• Previous experience as a Quality Assurance Technician in a production setting required, plastics experience a plus.

• Skill in oral/interpersonal communications, pleasant and polite to all co-workers and supervision.

• Ability and desire to willingly learn and help whomever, whenever and wherever assistance is needed.

• Ability to use caliper, micrometer and various other QA tools.

• Ability to be flexible and work overtime hours when necessary.
